Projects and Awards

We have been recognised as a Healthy School. This means that we help the children make informed choices about food, exercise and keeping healthy generally. We also provide healthy school meals and are part of the Free Fruit programme which ensures every child can have a free fruit snack every day. We were congratulated particularly on our "outstanding ethos."

We have been awarded a Gold Level Artsmark for our continuing commitment to high quality arts provision in the school. It's not all about painting pretty pictures!

Artsmark provides a national benchmark for the arts in education that encourages schools to consider the opportunities they offer in art, dance, drama and music.

Plans are in the pipeline to extend our provision with an arts centre on site.

We are a Bike-It school! Bike It is a ground-breaking project which has already quadrupled the number of children cycling to school. We have more than doubled our provision of bike racks for the children and the initiative is proving to be really popular.

We have achieved our Bronze Eco award

The Eco schools project is one which raises awareness of environmental issues and promotes increasing sustainability within schools.

The Topsham School was awarded the Gold TravelWise Schools Award The TravelWise Schools Award is run by Devon County Council. The purpose of the award is to reward those schools who have developed a School Travel Plan and to encourage them to maintain them and implement the actions contained in them over a sustained period.
