Autumn term 2008
|
We have been learning all about themselves, our families and how to stay safe, fit and healthy. We have had a baby clinic in the classroom and have been using our number work to weigh and measure the baby. Dr Harding came in to our class with his doctor's bag and talked about life as a doctor. |

| The children in Year 1 have all settled well into the new routines. | ||

Just before half term we had lots of visitors to help us get ready for harvest. We made bread with Ian Shears, pumpkin truffles with Lori Reich and pumpkin soup and bread rolls with Mr Vernon and Mrs Clark. | |
This half term, we will be learning about Festivals around the world including Divali, Hanukkah, Advent and, of course, Christmas. We will be writing our own stories using ideas from the story of Rama and Sita. Already the children have thought of brilliant describing words for the main characters. We look forward to making mendi patterns, diva lights and Divali cards.
There will obviously be lots of opportunity to make all things glittery and shiny and put up the Christmas lights!
